When you enter any town, city or country; there are things that must capture your eyes and keep your interest on or off. Some of those things are imaging in Gakenke district though in this perspective, your eyes will be positively captured as you get into the town and meet varieties of trees and flowers, colourful street and tidy environment around the area.

The flower gardens surrounded by black and white painted stones, green gardens struggling to grow beautiful as well as orderly residences make the town gorgeous.

Jean Pierre Ndahimana a resident of Gakenke had attended a meeting for the town development that included tax drivers, motorists and district authorities, and he is encouraged of the progress made, hoping that more campaign will attract awareness towards development.

Moreover, Zephyrin Ntakirutimana who is the vice mayor for social welfare in Gakenke district was not impressed by the cleanliness behind commercial houses in Gakenke town due to lack of garden trees. She encouraged them to plant garden trees so that the town can look much better.

Gakenke town is a first developing in the district, and it has emphasised hygiene environment among settlers for them to have hope that will be a catalyst of its future status.
